Bahama Boat Tours
Captain Carl Blades is the Operations Manager of Bahama Boat Tours. He has over 20 years maritime experience and has earned a 3000 ton Master’s License from the Bahamas Maritime Authority and also a 500 ton “A” Class Master’s License from the Bahamas Port Authority. He served as an officer in the Royal Bahamas Defense Force for over 16 years attaining the rank of lieutenant. His naval officer training was attained at Britannia Royal Naval College in Dartmouth England. He attended courses held by the US Navy and Coast Guard during his military career. He held various positions in the Force including Commanding Officer of numerous patrol crafts.
He has worked in the private sector for five years as a captain of several international freight boats and mail boats sailing between the Bahamas and South Florida. He has also earned a public service driver’s license and is a graduate of the Bahama Host program. He is assisted by other Bahamas Port Authority Licensed boat captains.
Captain Blades' wife Shavaughn is the administrative assistant with 18 years experience in this area. She has been employed in the banking industry for the past 15 years. Together they have two teenage children and have been married for the past 17 years. Both Captain Blades and his wife were born in the Bahamas and have lived here all of their lives.
Bahama Boat Tours fleet consist of a 2011 23' center console SeaHunt Ultra 232 and a 2008 18' Mariah Bowrider. Both boats have a stereo package with iPod inputs, cooler, snorkel gear, fishing rods and gear, inflatable tube and life vests onboard. The water ski's, knee board and wake board are available by request.
